  • • Category: Haunts, escape rooms, shops, etc.
  • • Rating: Filter by minimum star rating
  • • Open Now: Only show currently operating businesses
  • • Distance: Find spots within X miles of you

Rating & Reviewing Businesses

  2. Click "Write Review"
  3. Rate the business (1-5 stars)
  4. Write your experience (optional but encouraged)
  5. Add photos (optional - up to 10 photos)
  6. Tag aspects (e.g., "Great actors", "Too short", "Worth the price")
  7. Click "Post Review"

Review Guidelines

  • • Be honest but respectful
  • • Mention specific details (actors, sets, scares)
  • • Note if you visited during peak season vs off-season
  • • Disclose if you got comped tickets or special access
  • • Don't spoil major surprises or twists
  • • Update review if business improves/changes

Reviews violating our community guidelines (fake reviews, harassment, spam) will be removed and may result in account suspension.

Check-Ins & Photos

Log your visits and share photos with the community.

Checking In

Check in to show you visited a business:

  • • Appears in your activity feed and profile
  • • Contributes to business popularity ranking
  • • Unlocks badges for frequent visitors
  • • Optional: Share to social media

Adding Photos

Upload photos to help others know what to expect:

  • • Exterior photos (building, signage)
  • • Interior ambiance (where allowed)
  • • Merchandise and products
  • • Your experience (costumes, props, etc.)

⚠️ Photo Guidelines

Respect "No Photos" policies at haunted attractions and escape rooms. Don't spoil surprises! Focus on entrance areas and general atmosphere.

Claiming Your Business

Are you a business owner? Claim your listing to manage information and respond to reviews.

How to Claim

  1. Find your business on Hellbound Hearts
  2. Click "Claim This Business"
  3. Verify ownership (business email, phone, or documentation)
  4. Wait for approval (1-3 business days)
  5. Access your business dashboard

Adding a New Business

Don't see a business listed? Add it to help grow the directory!

How to Add

  1. Go to Businesses and click "Add Business"
  2. Enter business name and category
  3. Add address and contact info
  4. Upload photos (optional but helpful)
  5. Add description and hours (if known)
  6. Submit for review

💡 Tip

New business submissions are reviewed within 24 hours. Make sure to include accurate information to speed up approval. You'll get a notification when approved!

FAQ

How is this different from Locations?

Locations are filming sites and landmarks tied to specific movies. Businesses are commercial establishments like haunts, shops, and attractions. Some overlap exists (e.g., a horror museum at a filming location).

Can I edit business information?

Yes! Click "Suggest Edit" on any business page. Your suggested changes will be reviewed. If you're the business owner, claim your listing to make instant edits.

How do I report a closed business?

Click the "Report" button on the business page and select "Permanently Closed." Provide details if you have them. We'll verify and mark it closed or remove it.

Can businesses pay for better placement?

Not yet, but we're developing "Premium Business" features that will include featured placement (clearly marked as sponsored). Organic search results will always be based on rating, relevance, and distance.
