Browse active challenges and join the ones that interest you.
How to Join
- Go to Challenges page
- Browse challenges by category (Seasonal, Ongoing, Community)
- Click on a challenge to see details and rules
- Click "Join Challenge" to start tracking
- Mark movies as watched to log progress

💡 Tip
Join multiple challenges at once! Many films can count toward multiple challenges (e.g., a 1980s Italian horror film counts for both "Decade Deep Dive: 80s" and "Around the World").
Tracking Progress
Your challenge progress is tracked automatically as you rate and log movies.
Logging Progress
Movies count toward challenges when you:
- • Rate a movie that fits challenge criteria
- • Mark a movie as "watched" on your watchlist
- • Log a rewatch (if challenge allows)
Progress Dashboard
Your challenge page shows:
- • Overall completion percentage
- • Movies watched vs. goal
- • Criteria breakdown (e.g., 7/10 subgenres completed)
- • Days remaining (for time-limited challenges)
- • Your rank on leaderboard
⚠️ Note
Only movies watched AFTER joining the challenge count toward completion. Previous ratings don't retroactively count (except for Ongoing challenges).

Creating Your Own Challenge
Have an idea for a unique horror challenge? Create your own and invite the community!
How to Create
- Go to Challenges and click "Create Challenge"
- Choose challenge type (Movie count, Subgenre, Theme, etc.)
- Set title, description, and rules
- Define completion criteria (e.g., "Watch 10 found footage films")
- Set duration (Ongoing or specific dates)
- Optionally add recommended movie list
- Publish and share with the community

💡 Tip
The best challenges have clear criteria and aren't too restrictive. Make it fun and achievable! Challenges with 10-30 participants often get featured on the homepage.
FAQ
Can I join a challenge after it starts?
Yes! You can join seasonal/time-limited challenges at any point before they end. Your progress starts from when you join. Ongoing challenges have no start date.
Do rewatches count?
It depends on the challenge rules. Most challenges allow rewatches, but some (like "Blind Spot Challenge") require first-time watches. Check the challenge description.
Can I leave a challenge?
Yes. Go to the challenge page and click "Leave Challenge." Your progress will be lost, but you can rejoin later (for ongoing challenges only).
Where do I see my badges?
Earned badges appear on your profile page under "Achievements." You can also see them in Settings → Profile → Badges, where you can choose which ones to display.
