Create and join niche horror communities based on specific subgenres, local areas, or shared interests.
What Are Community Groups?

Finding & Joining Groups
How to Find Groups
- 1
Browse Groups
Go to Groups from the main menu to see all available groups.
- 2
Search or Filter
Use the search bar to find specific topics, or filter by:
- • Category (subgenre, location, interest, franchise)
- • Member count (small, medium, large)
- • Activity level (very active, active, quiet)
- • Privacy type (public, private, invite-only)
- 3
Preview the Group
Click on any group to see its description, member count, recent posts, and moderators. This helps you decide if it's right for you.
- 4
Join the Group
Click "Join Group". For public groups, you're in immediately! For private groups, you'll need to request to join and wait for moderator approval.
Group Privacy Types
- 🌍Public: Anyone can join instantly. Posts visible to all users.
- 🔒Private: Request to join required. Posts only visible to members.
- 🔐Invite-Only: Can only join via invitation from existing members.
💡 Pro Tip: Start with 2-3 Groups
Don't join too many groups at once! Start with 2-3 that really interest you. You can always join more later once you get a feel for the community.

What You Can Do in Groups
Post Discussions
Create posts specifically for the group. These appear in the group feed and notify members (depending on their notification settings). Use this for niche topics that fit the group's theme.
Comment & Reply
Engage with other members' posts. Upvote quality content, reply thoughtfully, and build connections with fellow enthusiasts.
Organize Events
Groups can organize their own events (watch parties, meetups, conventions). Create an event and tag it with your group to invite all members.
Share Resources
Share articles, videos, podcasts, or other horror-related content relevant to the group. Many groups have dedicated "resources" threads.
Connect with Members
Click on any member's profile to learn more about them, see their horror tastes, and send a friend request or message.

✓ Tips for Successful Groups
- • Post regularly to keep the group active
- • Welcome new members with a pinned "Welcome" post
- • Establish clear rules and enforce them fairly
- • Organize events to bring members together
- • Feature member content (reviews, art, etc.)
- • Respond to posts and engage with members
⚠️ Before Creating a Group
Check if a similar group already exists! It's better to join and contribute to an existing group than to create a duplicate. Use the search feature to look for similar topics.
Managing Groups (for Admins & Moderators)
Admin Powers
Approve/Deny Join Requests
For private groups, review join requests and approve members who are a good fit. Check their profile to see if they align with the group's focus.
Remove Members
If a member violates rules or causes disruption, you can remove them. Click their profile → "Remove from Group". They can't rejoin without re-requesting.
Delete Posts
Remove posts that violate group rules, are off-topic, or contain spam. Always explain why to maintain transparency.
Pin Important Posts
Pin announcements, rules, or important discussions to the top of the group feed. Pinned posts stay visible to all members.
Assign Moderators
As your group grows, assign trusted members as moderators to help manage the community. Mods can remove posts and members, but can't delete the group.
Edit Group Settings
Update the group description, cover image, privacy settings, or category anytime from Group Settings.
Deleting a Group
To delete a group, go to Group Settings → "Delete Group". This is permanent and cannot be undone. All posts, members, and group history will be lost.
⚠️ Only delete if absolutely necessary. Consider archiving or passing admin to someone else instead.
