How to Rate Media
Step-by-Step Guide

Navigate to Media Library
Go to Media Library and browse or search for a title.

Search for a Title
Use the search bar to find the horror movie, book, game, or show you want to rate. You can filter by media type, genre, or year.

Click on the Media Item
Select the title to view its detail page with synopsis, cast, release info, and community ratings.

Click "Rate"
Click the "Rate" button or star icons. Select your rating from 1 to 5 stars.

Optionally Write a Review
After rating, you can click "Write Review" to share your thoughts. Reviews are optional but help the community!

Submit Rating
Click "Submit Rating" to save. Your rating is now part of the community average!
Rating Scale Guide
5 Stars - Masterpiece
A horror classic. Unforgettable, must-watch/read/play.
4 Stars - Great
Really enjoyed it. Highly recommend to horror fans.
3 Stars - Good
Decent, has its moments. Worth checking out.
2 Stars - Mediocre
Disappointing. Has flaws, only for die-hard fans.
1 Star - Terrible
Not worth your time. Avoid.
Writing Reviews
After rating a title, you can write a review to share your detailed thoughts. Great reviews help others decide what to watch/read/play!
What to Include
Good Reviews Include:
- ✓ What you liked/disliked
- ✓ Scare level and atmosphere
- ✓ Standout moments (no spoilers!)
- ✓ Who would enjoy it
- ✓ Comparisons to similar titles
Avoid in Reviews:
- ✗ Major plot spoilers (or mark them!)
- ✗ Personal attacks on creators
- ✗ One-sentence reviews ("It was good")
- ✗ Spam or promotional content
- ✗ Offensive language
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
If your review contains spoilers (plot twists, character deaths, endings), check the "Contains Spoilers" checkbox. This hides your review behind a spoiler warning, protecting others from unwanted reveals.

Using Your Watchlist
What is a Watchlist?
Your watchlist is a personal collection of horror titles you want to watch, read, or play. It's like a bookmark system for horror media!
How to Use It
Adding to Watchlist
On any media page, click the "+ Watchlist" button. The title is instantly saved to your personal watchlist.
Viewing Your Watchlist
Access your watchlist from your profile or the Media Library page. You can organize it by:
- • Priority (High, Medium, Low)
- • Date Added (Newest first)
- • Alphabetically (A-Z)
- • Media Type (Movies, Books, Games, TV)
Removing from Watchlist
Click the "- Remove" button on the media page or in your watchlist. The title is instantly removed.
Getting Recommendations
How Recommendations Work
Our recommendation engine analyzes your ratings and reviews to suggest horror titles you'll love. The more you rate, the better the recommendations!
Collaborative Filtering
We find users with similar tastes to you and recommend titles they enjoyed. If horror fans like you loved a movie, you probably will too!
Content-Based Matching
We analyze the genres, themes, directors, and styles you rate highly and suggest similar titles with those characteristics.
💡 Pro Tip: Rate at Least 5 Titles
To get accurate recommendations, rate at least 5 horror titles. The more you rate, the better our algorithm understands your preferences!

- •Media Library: "Recommended for You" section
- •Your Profile: Personalized recommendations tab
- •Media Detail Pages: "Similar Titles" section
Importing Data
Can I Import My Data?
Currently, direct import from platforms like Letterboxd, Goodreads, or IMDb is not available, but it's on our roadmap for a future update.

For Now: Manual Entry
You can manually add titles to your watchlist and ratings. We know it's not ideal, but we appreciate your patience as we build this feature!
