What are Collections?
Collections are custom lists of horror movies you create and curate. Unlike your personal watchlist (which is just for you), collections can be shared publicly with the community or kept private.

Creating a Collection
Step-by-Step Guide

Go to Collections Page
Navigate to Collections from the main menu and click "Create Collection" in the top-right.

Name Your Collection
Choose a clear, descriptive name that tells people what movies are in the collection. Be creative but specific!

Add a Description
Explain the theme or criteria. Why did you choose these movies? What connects them? This helps others understand your vision.

Choose Visibility
Select who can see your collection:
🌍 Public
Anyone can see, like, and rate your collection. Appears in public listings.
🔒 Private
Only you can see it. Perfect for personal organization or works-in-progress.

Add Movies
Search for movies to add. You can add as many as you want! Reorder them by dragging to arrange by preference or chronology.

Upload Cover Image (Optional)
Add a custom cover image to make your collection stand out. Use movie posters, artwork, or themed graphics. Recommended size: 1200x630px.

Save Collection
Click "Create Collection" to save. Your collection is now live (if public) or saved privately (if private).
Adding Movies to Collections
Method 1: From Collection Page
- 1.Open your collection
- 2.Click "Add Movies" button
- 3.Search for movies in the modal
- 4.Click the "+" icon to add them
Method 2: From Movie Page
- 1.Go to any movie detail page
- 2.Click "Add to Collection" button
- 3.Select which collection(s) to add it to
- 4.Movie is instantly added
Managing Your Collections
Editing a Collection
Open your collection and click "Edit Collection". You can change the name, description, visibility, cover image, or reorder movies.
Removing Movies
Click the "X" icon on any movie card in your collection to remove it. This doesn't delete the movie, just removes it from this collection.
Reordering Movies
In edit mode, drag and drop movie cards to rearrange them. Order can represent preference, chronology, or viewing order.
Changing Visibility
You can switch between Public and Private anytime in edit mode. Making a collection public shares it with everyone; making it private hides it.
Deleting a Collection
In edit mode, scroll to the bottom and click "Delete Collection". This permanently removes the collection but doesn't affect the movies themselves.
Liking & Rating Collections
Show Appreciation
When you find a great collection created by another user, you can interact with it:

Click the heart icon to "like" a collection. This shows the creator you appreciate their curation and helps surface quality collections to others.
⭐ Rating
Rate collections from 1-5 stars based on quality, creativity, and usefulness. Average ratings help others discover the best collections.
💬 Comments
Leave comments to suggest additions, thank the creator, or discuss the theme. Constructive feedback helps curators improve!
Featured Collections
Exceptional collections may be featured by our editorial team. Featured collections appear at the top of the Collections page and get extra visibility.

- •Include 10-30 movies (not too few, not too many)
- •Focus on unique themes that haven't been done to death

Sharing Collections
Share your collections on social media to recommend movies to friends or showcase your expertise.
How to Share
- 1.Open your collection
- 2.Click the "Share" button
- 3.Choose Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, or copy the link
- 4.Share message auto-populates with collection details
⚠️ Privacy Note
Only public collections can be shared. Private collections will show an error if someone tries to access the link.

- • Generic names like "Horror Movies"
- • Empty or one-word descriptions
- • Collections with 100+ movies (too broad)
- • Collections with only 2-3 movies (too narrow)
- • Mixing unrelated themes
- • Offensive or inappropriate titles
- • Duplicate collections already popular
Frequently Asked Questions
How many collections can I create?
There's no limit! Create as many collections as you want. Most users maintain 5-15 active collections covering different themes.
Can I add the same movie to multiple collections?
Yes! A movie can be in as many of your collections as you want. For example, "The Thing" could be in both "Best 80s Horror" and "Creature Features".
Can other users add movies to my collection?
No, only you can edit your collections. However, users can suggest additions in the comments section, which you can then add manually if you like the suggestion.
What happens if I make a public collection private?
It immediately disappears from public listings and search results. Existing likes and ratings are hidden but preserved, so if you make it public again later, they'll return.
Can I copy someone else's collection?
Currently, there's no "clone collection" feature, but you can manually recreate it by adding the same movies to your own collection. Give credit to the original curator if you do this!
